The beta release of our finned oil filter covers have finally arrived, and man do they look cool! We spent a lot of upfront analysis time on evaluating these with CFD prior to letting the chips fly. We were able to really optimize the amount of flow through these fins after testing a number of different fin spacings and geometries.
Overall external surface area of the filter cover has been increased drastically. This increase in surface area paired with optimized fin profile and a black anodized surface finish contributes to an approximate 250% increase in heat loss when compared to the OEM oil filter cover. This results in lower oil temperatures as the hot engine oil transfers its heat from the inside face of the cover to the air stream on the external finned side.
